Ostgut-Ton, the label born out of Berlin’s Berghain club, is launching a new mix CD series called SUB:STANCE. It’s due out on January 25, 2010.
SUB:STANCE is the name of the regular dubstep-oriented night at Berghain curated by Paul Fowler (Spymania) and Scuba, and it’s the latter who helms the first instalment in the mix series.
Based in Berlin, London-hailing Scuba also runs Hotflush Recordings, which has grown to become one of the most vital and unpredictable dubstep labels around. His SUB:STANCE mix features a hail of new productions by artists including Joy Orbison, James Blake, Ramadanman and Pangaea. Shortstuff, Untold, Instra:mental, Shackleton, Surgeon and Joker also feature.
SUB:STANCE is the third mix series established by Ostgut Ton. The Berghain series focuses on techno and has thus far boasted contributions from the likes of Marcel Dettmann and Len Faki, while Cassy and Tama Sumo have created the two house-driven Panoramabar mixes to date.
